Mounted print. The Peak District is an upland area in central and northern England, lying mainly in northern Derbyshire. This excellent oil painting truly captures the feel of this popular tourist area with its enchanting villages, historic towns and glorious ever-changing landscapes. This railway poster by Claude Buckle was painted in the 50’s. The original artwork is kept at the NRM in York. 1950.
The location is probably or Dove Dale. A degree of artistic license has been used making it difficult to pin point the exact location.
