Description

Self portrait of the artist at Vernham Dean near Andover. The picture shows the saw bench which was used to saw logs for the fire in the 60’s. Claude Buckle lived in a cottage in the then tiny village of Vernham Dean near Andover. Logs were delivered for heating in unsawn lengths and seasoned in the garden over a couple of years before been cut up into logs on that wicked looking saw. The saw did have a guard which is not shown in the picture.
